Yum! Brands, Inc., is an American fast food restaurant company based in Louisville, Kentucky.
The company currently operates the KFC®, Taco Bell®, Pizza Hut®, and WingStreet® restaurant chains.
Yum! Brands is one of the leading fast food companies in terms of total locations, with over 40,000 restaurants in more than 125 countries and territories, and over 1.5 million associates.
Yum! was originally called Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc., an independent company formed in 1997 as a result of a corporate spin-off of the fast food division of PepsiCo.
In 2002 the company renamed itself to Yum! Brands, Inc.
According to Yum!, the company is going to be aggressively expanding operations (in domestic and foreign markets) for years to come. The company is “focused on the three keys to driving shareholder value: new-unit development, same-store sales growth and generating high returns on invested capital.”
