Advantages of Dock Shelters

Dock shelters are an important component of any loading dock area. They provide a physical barrier between the loading dock and the outside environment, helping to keep out debris, pests, and extreme weather conditions. Dock shelters also help to improve energy efficiency by creating a seal that can keep heat in during winter months and cool air in during summer months.

There are many different types of dock shelters available on the market, each with its own set of advantages, which loading bay solutions provider, Fen-Bay Services have explained here:

Air inflation dock shelters

Air inflation dock shelters use a system of air bladders to create a seal around the loading dock door. When properly inflated, these bladders can  create a very tight seal that is ideal for energy efficiency. Air inflation dock shelters are also relatively easy to install and maintain.

Foam dock shelters

Foam dock shelters use high-density foam to create a seal around the loading dock door. Foam dock shelters are often used in combination with other types of dock shelters, such as  air inflation dock shelters, to create an even tighter seal. Foam dock shelters are also relatively easy to install and maintain.

Hangar-style dock shelters

Hangar-style dock shelters are designed to enclose the entire loading dock area. These types of dock shelters typically have a frame that is made of steel or aluminum, and  they are covered with a fabric or tarp material. Hangar-style dock shelters provide excellent protection from the elements and can  create a very tight seal, making them ideal for energy efficiency. However, hangar-style dock shelters can be more difficult to install and maintain than other types of dock shelters.

Dock seals

Dock seals are  similar to dock shelters, but they are designed to seal around the sides and top of a loading dock door. Dock seals can provide excellent protection from the elements and  can create a tight seal that is ideal for energy efficiency. However, dock seals can be more difficult to install and maintain than other types of dock shelters.
