Coach, Inc. is an American company that focuses on the production and marketing of “fine accessories and gifts”.

Its products include: handbags, women’s and men’s accessories, footwear, business cases, jewelry, wearables, travel bags, fragrances and watches. Women’s handbags and accessories accounts for the majority of the company’s revenue.

Coach was founded in 1941 and began as a family-run workshop in a Manhattan loft.

In June 2000, Coach was incorporated in the state of Maryland and that same year the company went public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), under the stock ticker symbol ‘COH’.

The company uses a cost-effective global sourcing model, in which independent manufacturers supply its products.

Coach claims that its products use “high quality leathers, fabrics and materials”.

It operates in two reportable segments: North America and International:

North America – comprised of direct-to-consumer and indirect channels (through company-operated stores, including the internet, and sales to wholesale customers and distributors), with stores located in regional shopping centers and metropolitan areas throughout the U.S. and Canada.

International – comprised of sales to consumers through Company-operated stores in Japan and mainland China, including the Internet, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia and Korea and sales to wholesale customers and distributors in 25 countries.
