The company is publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), under the stock ticker symbol ‘DNR’.

It is the most prominent oil and natural gas producer in Mississippi and Montana. It also has the largest reserves of carbon dioxide (CO2) used for tertiary oil recovery east of the Mississippi River, in addition to operations in the Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain areas.

Denbury Resources has approximately 468.3 Million Barrels of Oil Equivalent (MMBOE) of estimated proved oil and natural gas reserves (83% of which is oil), as of December 31, 2013.

The company was originally founded in Canada in 1951. It became a public company in 1992, traded on the New York Stock Exchange in 1997, and completely moved its headquarters to the United States in 1999.

Denbury’s goal is “to increase the value of acquired properties through a combination of exploitation, drilling and proven engineering extraction practices, with the most significant emphasis relating to tertiary recovery operations.”
