Forklift is a large investment and there are many things to think about prior to making a final decision.

Choosing a Forklift Dealer

The forklift dealer you choose may be the most important decision you make. Having a wide selection is important, so you can get the product that is best suited for your needs.  Does the forklift dealer just sell forklifts, or do they rent them too?  Also, location and convenience are important.  When choosing a forklift dealer, their reputation and length of time that they have been in business should be looked at. This purchase/rental will be a big investment, so it’s to your advantage,  to do your homework.

An experienced forklift dealer will have more options, and know how to help you in the best way.  Does the forklift dealer have a parts department, and can they assist you with repairs and maintenance, if the equipment breaks? Other options would include rental versus purchasing.

Convenience

No matter if you visit the forklift dealer in person or want to shop online, you want to feel like you are being taken care of adequately.  Does the dealership have nationwide delivery, and convenient locations that span over different time zones?  Some forklift dealer’s have sales associates who are available 24/7, so you never have to run into an “after hours” problem. As the customer, you need to be able to conduct your business the way that is best for you.

Inventory Variety

A great forklift dealer will have, and service many reliable brands, types of forklifts, and hand trucks.  The type of forklift is usually based on need and where it will be used. The forklifts will usually have different fuel types, such as gasoline, diesel, or electric options.  Another thing to consider is, does the forklift dealer have a parts department, to assist if things need maintenance for the model you purchase?

Since customers have a variety of needs, it’s good if the sales team is there to act as a matchmaker between you and your new purchase to determine the type of forklift needed and how it is powered.

Customer Service Matters

The level of customer service that you get from your forklift dealer will be something that will stick with you.   You want to feel like you have invested your money wisely. A great team can assist with questions about renting versus owning and the financial aspects of that.  This will be a large purchase, and you want to trust the forklift dealer and feel like you have been taken care of. Overall, you want the forklift dealer you choose to have some of these endearing qualities and feel like there is mutual trust.
