Tyson Foods Inc. is a multinational food processing company, based in Arkansas, USA.
It is currently the second-largest food production company in the world and America’s number one processor and marketer of chicken, beef, and pork – producing approximately one out of every five pounds of chicken, beef and pork in the country.
Tyson Foods was founded in 1935 by John W. Tyson. For years it flourished as a family business, producing a range of protein-based and prepared food products. It went public in 1963.
It now operates more than than 400 facilities and offices worldwide – with a team of over 115,000 people and it packages around 42.5 million chickens, 170,938 cattle, and 347,891 pigs on a weekly basis.
