2019 is here, and the business world is more concerned about its progress in yesteryear rather than celebrating the next year. We are going to follow suit and mention the construction companies that have dominated 2018 and will continue to do the same this year.

Here are five companies’ incredible achievements in 2018.

Bechtel is currently the top construction contractor in the US. This is a San Francisco based construction company. It landed the number one spot on ENR’s top 400 construction companies in 2017, and it maintains that position so far.

The company has been around for more than 120 years. It has completed over 25,000 projects in 160 countries. Some of these projects are:

  • NSC Chernobyl Shelter and Confinement (a $1 billion unit constructed to seal off radioactive material)

  • London City Airport (energy facility that aims to power more than 700,000 homes (the contract is worth over 450 million sterling pounds)

The China State Construction Engineering Corporation LTD is known as the largest construction contractor in the world. The company has over $160 Billion in revenue and employs over 270,000 workers. This company has completed several projects around the world.

It is the recipient of numerous awards. CSCEC is known for its construction methods and precision. It uses top grade materials from the best suppliers like Dynatect among others.

3.  Unibail-Rodamco

The biggest real estate developer currently in Europe, Unibail-Rodamco is a Paris-based construction company that has $2.5 billion in net revenue, a $51 billion asset portfolio and $2.5 billion in the bottom line in 2017.

This company has served Europe for years. It has constructed over 60+ shopping centers with 13 Office Buildings and 11 convention centers. It usually owns and operates the prime retail assets of metropolitan cities.

Recently it acquired Westfield Corporation; the takeover was complete in 2018.

CPB Contractors PTY is the top construction company in Australia and the Asia Pacific. The company has built several roads, defense facilities, healthcare centers, and hospitals.

However, the company will always be famous for completing the Metro Tunnel Project back in the Victorian Era. It is said that the company was awarded $400 million for the contract. This company employs over 20,000 people from Australia and the Asia Pacific.

5.  Balfour Beatty

This Construction company is headquartered in London. It is a multinational infrastructure group that is known for its leading-edge construction services, support services, and infrastructure solutions. It employs more than 30,000 people and has a gross revenue of more than $10 billion.

The construction mogul maintained its track record last year as well and became one of the most profitable companies of 2018. Balfour Beatty grossed a $9.8 Billion revenue in 2018 and stood out as the most profitable construction company for two years in a row. This is an impressive victory.

The outlook for the business world in general this year will depend largely on the effect the coronavirus outbreak has on the global economy.
