The Emirates Group is an aviation holding company, based in Garhoud, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
It is wholly owned by the Government of Dubai, under the Investment Corporation of Dubai.
The two major divisions of The Emirates Group are Emirates airline, the largest airline in the Middle East (operating around 3,400 flights per week), and Dnata, which provides services in ground handling, cargo, travel, IT solutions and flight catering.
It has a portfolio of more than 50 brands in air transport, airport aviation services, engineering services, flight catering, IT, retail, risk management and security, tour operator and events management, travel, air cargo support services, freight forwarding and logistics, hotels and resorts, loyalty programs, and training.

The history of the company traces back to 1959, with the creation of dnata by the Dubai Government – to provide ground handling services at the Dubai International Airport. Emirates Airlines was created in March 1985 with financial support from Dubai’s royal family – it quickly became one of the fastest growing airlines in the world.
