Samsung Galaxy S7 will be officially unveiled on 21 Febuary, teaser video uploaded

The Galaxy S7 will be unveiled at Samsung’s annual “Unpacked” event on 21 February – one day before the 2016 Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.

The smartphone maker uploaded a teaser video on its website, but the phone itself is not shown.

The video (embedded below) just shows someone using a Samsung’s Gear VR headset reaching forward with their hands. Some text pops up during the video saying: “Get ready to rethink what a phone can do,” and “#TheNextGalaxy will be revealed at Unpacked on February 21.”

The video suggests Samsung could make some sort of VR-related announcement at the event. The event will be available for people to watch live on Samsung’s official YouTube channel and press site.

The Samsung S7 smartphone

Samsung hasn’t provided much (if any at all) information on the specifications of the S7. Rumours suggest that it may look similar to the S6 and feature a MicroSD slot, pack a longer-lasting battery, and have a faster processor.

Two versions of the smartphone are expected to be released: a 5.1-inch flat-screen version ‘S7’, and a 5.5-inch curved-screen ‘S7 Edge’.

Prolific leaker Evan Blass, mobile editorialist at VentureBeat, tweeted a picture of what he claims is the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge:

However, these are just rumours. People will have to wait for the actual launch event to find out about the specs of the phone and its appearance.
