Hertz Global Holdings Inc has appointed John Tague as its new chief executive officer.
Tague, former chief operating officer of United Airlines Inc, will also become President of the Naples, Florida-based rental-car company.
His appointment is effective tomorrow.
Hertz chose Tague over the former Dollar Thrifty CEO Scott Thompson, whom many investors considered to be the “obvious choice” in succeeding Mark Frissora.
Hertz, said that that Frissora resigned for “personal reasons” in September.
The company has owned up to a number of accounting errors that started in 2011. It has yet to report financial results for 2014 and notified investors not to rely on its last three years of financial statements until it has corrected them.
