Vaping has become popular across the globe as more and more people decide to give it a try. This technique has also become a common way of introducing CBD to your system due to its simplicity. But if you’re new to the vaping and the CBD scene, you’re probably wondering how to do so properly. In this post, we bring everything you need to know about CBD vape, so read on to learn more.
Why people vape CBD?
Most people decide to vape CBD because it’s a much faster way to experience the effects. The effects occur within five to 10 minutes upon inhaling, which is quicker compared to 30 minutes or longer when consuming edibles.
The health potential of CBD is also a reason why many people decide to vape it, hoping they’ll experience those benefits faster.
The most frequently reported effects of CBD include pain relief, relaxation, anxiety relief, and general improvement in mood and wellbeing.
Additionally, vaping poses as a discrete way to consume CBD because you can take a vape pen or tank wherever you go and hold it in the pocket, carry it in a purse or bag.
Choose your vaping equipment.
When you decide to start vaping CBD, the first thing to do is to choose the vaping device. Generally speaking, two types of devices are used: pen-style and tank-style vaporizers.
The vape pens are used for concentrates and consist of a chamber with the metal heating coil at the bottom. Tank-style vaporizers produce those well-known clouds that people associate with vaping. Tanks require e-liquid i.e., a combination of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, flavorings, and CBD.
Vaporizers can be disposable or reusable. If you’re going to vape CBD regularly, then reusable i.e., refillable devices, are more suitable.
When it comes to vaping CBD, you may benefit the most from the devices with a tank or pod style system that has a ceramic or mesh style coil. These particular vaping devices produce the most flavor and the cleanest draw when inhaling the vapor.
What wattage to choose?
Some vaping devices allow users to choose the wattage i.e., control how much heat goes to the coil. Generally speaking, the higher the wattage, the hotter the coil gets, which translates in more vapor produced. While you may be inclined to opt for higher wattage, you need to bear in mind; it can burn and damage the coil.
If you have the option to choose wattage, make sure to stay low. A good starting point is 12 watts, but if vapor produced is insufficient, try increasing by 1 watt and see how it will work out. Avoid increasing the wattage too radically; always do it by 1 watt at a time.
How much CBD to vape?
At this point, there is no specific dosage that works perfectly for all people. The general misconception is that the more you use, the better. It doesn’t work that way! A lot of factors determine how much you need to take, including your weight, quality of CBD, metabolism, just to name a few.
Below you can see examples of dosages for different weight groups:
- 80-150 lbs – low 12mg, medium 15mg, high 18mg
- 151-240 lbs – low 18mg, medium 22.5mg, high 27mg
- 240 lbs + – low 22.5mg, medium 30mg, high 45mg
The best thing to do is to start with the smallest dose to which you will stick for a few days or up to a week. Allow yourself to use a specific dosage for a certain time to notice how your body will react, whether some changes or effects could occur, how you feel when vaping.
If you modify dosages too frequently, you won’t be able to know which one works or not.
How long to inhale CBD vape?
First, you need to turn on the vaping device following the protocol for that specific vaporizer you’ve chosen. Then you can start vaping, but keep in mind how you do it plays a big role in the effects you’re going to experience.
Take in a deep breath when you vape. Ideally, you should breathe in for about three seconds, hold it for three seconds at the back of the mouth, and then exhale. There should be a 30-seconds pause in between two puffs. If you don’t feel anything increase the number of puffs to four seconds, then hold in for four seconds and exhale.
Vaping CBD is easy, and the process starts when you buy the vaping device. Multiple options are available, so take some time to find the one that will fit your needs the most. Stick with lower doses at first and work your way up if necessary. Vaping is about relaxing and ease of use, so avoid changing doses or the number of puffs too radically within a short timeframe.
