The McLaren 675LT Spider sold out in less than two weeks after being officially announced on 3 December.
According to a report by Autoblog, McLaren spokesman Wayne Bruce confirmed that the company sold out its entire production run of 500 units.
The 675LT Spider, which costs £285,450, is the fifth new model debuted by McLaren Automotive this year. It is the convertible version of the 675LT coupe, making it the second vehicle to receive the much esteemed LT badge.
LT is McLaren’s ultra high-performance brand, re-establishing the McLaren ‘Longtail’ heritage.
The British carmaker said that it decided to make the new model in direct response to significant customer demand.
The car features McLaren’s signature 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 powertrain engine, delivering 675PS (666bhp) and 7,100rpm and 700Nm (516lb ft), 10-spoke Ultra-Lightweight forged alloy wheels – 19-inch at the front, 20-inch at the rear – and a three-piece folding hardtop which can be operated at speeds of up to 19mph.
The McLaren 675LT boasts an impressive 0-100kmh (0-62mph) time of just 2.9 seconds, and 200kmh (124mph) is achieved in 8.1 seconds.
