However, there are some things that are often required when dealing with PDF files and it’s important that you know about them so that you don’t have to waste your time.

In this article, I have mentioned a few tricks that will save your day while deling with PDFs.

  1. Learn to rotate a PDF document

When you have a lot of documents to scan, there is a possibility that you forget to scan some pictures or pages in an upside-down manner. While this seems like a small problem, it gets annoying for the person who’s going through your document if they have to rotate their device’s screen after every few pages.

If you have scanned some pages incorrectly, you can simply rotate them. While one can go for rotating the pages each time the document is being used, it’s much better to rotate the pages permanently with the help of a software like Adobe Reader. All you have to do is go to ‘document’ and select the ‘rotate pages’ option and rotate the pages in the preferred direction.

  1. Merging PDF files

Many times, you will find yourself wanting to merge two PDF documents scanned separately. You can choose a software to do the work. If you choose the latter, ensure that the software you’re using is a reliable one. In Acrobat, you need to open one of the documents you want to merge and select the ‘combine files’ option under the ‘tools’ menu. Select ‘add files’ and choose the file you want to merge with the document and your work will be done.

  1. Deleting Pages from a PDF document

You might often face a situation where you need to remove some pages from your PDF document because they are of no use any longer.

Deleting pages is a fairly simple task. If you are a Mac user, all you have to do is open your PDF document and select ‘preview’ Once the preview loads, go to the menu on the top and select the ‘thumbnails’ option under the ‘view’ menu. Thumbnails of all the pages will get displayed and you can select the ones you want to and click on ‘delete’ in the ‘edit’ menu.

If you aren’t using a Mac, you can use Adobe Acrobat. The process of deleting pages is quite similar in both options.

  1. Signing A PDF Document

If you receive official paperwork in the form of a PDF document, you need not have to print the entire thing just to put your signature on a few pages. Instead, you can sign the document electronically.

It’s quite easy to add your electronic signature to any PDF file using the Adobe Reader software – select the ‘fill and sign’ option after opening the PDF file. Next, you need to select the ‘sign’ option before clicking on ‘Add signature.’ Under that, you will be able to choose the type of electronic signature you want to use- ‘image’ option allows you to use a scanned picture of your signature while the ‘type’ option will allow you to type in your name which is then automatically created into a signature.

You’ll also get the option to ‘draw’ your signature using your mouse. After choosing the ‘type’ all you need to do is position the signature over the spot you want to put it and select ‘apply’ before saving your document.

  1. Extracting Pages From A PDF File

The need to extract some pages from an existing, large PDF document is a quite common one. You can easily extract pages by using Adobe Acrobat. However, there’s also a simple trick to help you do this without having to purchase any software-

Select ‘open with’ after right-clicking on the document you want to extract pages from and choose Google Chrome. When the document opens in Chrome, hit ‘Ctrl+P’ on your keyboard to open the print menu.

From here, you need to click on the ‘Save as PDF’ option after clicking on ‘Change.’ Then, simply select the ‘pages’ option and enter the page numbers of the pages that you want to extract and save them at the desired location on your device as a separate file.

Keep all of these techniques in mind as you will be faced with situations where you need to use them more often than you think.
