Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, posted a video on Twitter of a release candidate version of the electric carmaker’s highly anticipated Model 3 sedan.
A release candidate version is essentially an almost-ready to be a final product, set to release, as is, unless significant bugs emerge.

It’s safe to assume that the car seen in the video will closely, if not completely, resemble the final version of the car that will go into production.
In a separate series of tweets, Musk stressed that the Model 3 is not “the “next version” of a Tesla”, but rather a more affordable addition to its current lineup.
Am noticing that many people think Model 3 is the "next version" of a Tesla, like iPhone 2 vs 3. This is not true.

Unveiled on April 1, 2016, the Model 3’s base price is $35,000, making it the most affordable Tesla model.
Despite being “the baby Tesla”, the base version of the Model 3 is set to achieve a 0-60 mph time of less than six seconds and travel up to 346 kilometers on a single charge.
Model 3 is just a smaller, more affordable version of Model S w less range & power & fewer features. Model S has more advanced technology.
