Hourly to Salary Calculator Guide

This calculator helps you convert your hourly wage into accurate weekly, monthly, and annual earnings. You can also:

  • Add overtime hours and rates
  • Apply deductions like taxes or benefits
  • Export your results as a downloadable CSV file
  • Visualize your gross vs. net income (if deductions are entered)

It’s designed for employees, freelancers, consultants, and business owners who want a full-picture view of their earnings.

How to Use the Calculator

1. Enter Your Hourly Wage

Type in how much you earn per hour. For example, if you make $25/hour, enter 25.

2. Set Your Weekly Hours

Input the number of hours you work per week (typically 40).

3. Define Weeks per Year

Most people use 52 (the number of weeks in a year), but you can adjust it for vacations or seasonal work.

4. (Optional) Add Overtime and Deductions

Click the “Optional” dropdown to enter:

  • Overtime hours per week
  • Overtime hourly rate
  • Deductions as a percentage (e.g. taxes or health insurance)

Only fill in the overtime fields if you work additional hours beyond your base schedule. Deductions are optional but allow the tool to show net earnings.

5. Click “Calculate”

You’ll instantly see:

  • Gross annual salary
  • Monthly and weekly earnings
  • Net income (if deductions are entered)

If you enter a deduction, the tool also shows a visual comparison of gross vs. net pay.

6. (Optional) Export Your Results

Click “Export Results to CSV” to download a file with all your entries and results. You can save or share it for budgeting, reporting, or negotiations.

Example Scenario

Let’s say you earn:

  • $30/hour
  • Work 40 hours per week
  • Work 50 weeks per year
  • Do 5 hours of overtime weekly at $45/hour
  • And have 20% deductions

Here’s what you’d see:

  • Gross Annual Pay: $72,500
  • Gross Monthly: $6,041.67
  • Net Annual Pay: $58,000
  • Net % vs. Gross: 80%

You can then download a CSV with all of this data.
