An astonishing UFO in the Dubai sky had a Sri Lankan housewife mesmerized while she was driving. Below it was a funnel of air that was rising directly to the large dome-like light in the sky.
Dulanka Bandara, 34, knew that nobody would believe her without some kind of proof, so she quickly got her smartphone out and took a photograph while the car was still in motion.
The alleged UFO sighting occurred while Mrs. Banadara was driving towards Burj Khalifa along the Al Khail Road on Saturday.
What do you think? A UFO or a lamppost with a light on top distorted because the image was taken from a moving vehicle, i.e. a trick of light? (Image: tocdn2-35e9.kxcdn.com)
Witness convinced it was a UFO
She is under no doubt that what she saw was not from this Earth, i.e. the work of beings from other worlds – extraterrestrials.
The image she captured was published in the newspaper 7Days.
Mrs. Bandara said to 7Days in an exclusive interview:
“I’m sure it’s a UFO. If you look at the shape of the object and the beam that’s shooting down, you can tell it’s a spaceship. They probably have visited us before many times but they have the ability to be visible or become invisible when they wish.”
“I have never seen a UFO before, but I’ve heard about them many times, so there is a possibility that they have discovered our planet a long time ago and now they have come to Dubai.”
This UFO was photographed in Dubai in February, 2015. (Image: YouTube below).
Dubai a ‘moderate’ UFO hotspot
The frequency of reported UFO sightings in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is described by ufologists as ‘moderate’ – approximately five claims are reported each year.
In the majority of cases, most are explainable – due to natural phenomena such as tricks of light, the planet Venus, or military aircraft. In some cases they are hoaxes. A small percentage remain unexplained. The unexplained ones are the true UFOs, given that the acronym stands for Unidentified Flying Object.
7Days quoted CEO of the Dubai Astronomy Group, Ahmad Al Hairi, who believes this sighting was a trick of light which can happen when you are in a moving car and a lampost with a light on top is photographed.
Mr. Al Heiriri said regarding UFO sighting claims:
“The approach we take is that first we gather all of the information and then we make a deep analysis of the photo and there is always a camera glitch that explains why the ‘object’ is there.”
This is the first UFO sighting claim we received from Dubai, most of the ones we report on occurred either in Europe, North and South America.
