Global warming figures were rigged by climate activists, says Christopher Booker

“Official” records were systematically tweaked to show that our planet was warming considerably more than it really was, if at all, Christopher Booker wrote in The Telegraph, an English broadsheet newspaper.

According to Mr. Booker, so-called scientists deliberately manipulated data to exaggerate the rate of global warming.

In his article, titled “The fiddling with temperature data is the biggest science scandal ever”, Mr. Booker alleges that readings from Paraguayan thermometers were adjusted by climate researchers to make them look like the temperature was rising, when in fact, the instruments were showing completely the opposite.

Global warming scandal

If global warming figures are rigged, how will we know what the true situation is?

Anti-climate change activist Paul Homewood said that changes were made in published temperature graphs for three Paraguayan weather stations. Sixty years’ worth of cooling trends were deliberately changed to look like six decades of warming.

Mr. Homewood checked out the readings of other weather stations in South America, and found in each case that suspicious “adjustments” had been made.

Initially, these were made by the US government’s GHCN (Global Historical Climate Network). They were then inflated by two of the main official surface records, the NCDC (National Climate Data Center) and GISS (Goddard Institute for Space Studies).

The two institutes use warming trends to estimate temperatures throughout regions on the planet where no measurements are taken. According to Mr. Homewood, researchers worldwide rely on data from these two institutes to gain a better understanding of global warming.

Measurements in other regions also manipulated

Mr. Homewood is now concentrating on the weather stations across most of the Arctic, from Canada to Siberia.

He found that the scientists had made the same suspicious adjustments to demonstrate warming up to 1°C or higher than had been indicated by the data that was really recorded.

Former chief of Iceland’s climate research, Traust Jonsson, was shocked when he saw how the new version completely ignored the “sea ice years” of 1970, a period when extreme cooling nearly devastated the economy of his country.

Mr. Booker wrote:

“When future generations look back on the global-warming scare of the past 30 years, nothing will shock them more than the extent to which the official temperature records – on which the entire panic ultimately rested – were systematically “adjusted” to show the Earth as having warmed much more than the actual data justified.”

Unreliable scientific studies are extremely alarming

Policymakers rely on the integrity of scientists when considering new regulations regarding our planet’s climate. If these data are unreliable or deliberately rigged, the consequences are potentially disastrous.

Billions of dollars in false climate change protection could be spent pointlessly, or even worse, what if nothing is done because everybody has lost faith in published data while the planet continues warming up?

The integrity of scientists and the data they publish is paramount! Without it we are lost.
