Canadian National Railway said that 35 cars, including one car transporting dangerous goods, slid off the tracks near Raymore, Saskatchewan.

The incident occurred at 9:45 a.m. CST Friday approximately 110 kilometres north of Regina.

CN spokesman Jim Feeney said:

“It is a car that contains an alcohol product and the initial information that we have from the train conductor is that the car is intact and is not leaking,”

Royal Canadian Mounted Police said that there have been no reports of a leak and the derailment poses no risk to public safety at this time. So far no injuries have been reported.

People who lived beside the tracks where the crash occurred have said that they could feel the derailment shaking their houses.

Wilf Bentz, who lives near the tracks where the derailment happened, told CBC News:

“We heard this big rumble and the next thing was, it just ground to a halt and it’s been sitting there since,”

Two rural roads in the area have been blocked off because of the incident.
