Air China agrees to buy sixty Boeing 737s for $6 billion

Boeing Co. announced that Air China has agreed to purchase sixty 737s, including Next-Generation 737 and 737 MAX airplanes, in a deal valued at over $6 billion – at current list prices.

Ihssane Mounir, VP of Sales and Marketing, Northeast Asia, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said:

“Our long-standing and productive partnership with Air China dates back to the airline’s beginning and we are proud the 737 has been part of their success,”

Adding:

”We are excited to see that the 737 family will play a significant role in Air China’s continued success.”

Air China, the country’s flag carrier, will receive the aircraft between 2016 and 2020.

Boeing aiming for record deliveries

The Chicago based company is aiming for record aircraft deliveries this year and estimates a 10% jump in production next year. Only four months ago Singapore’s BOC Aviation agreed to purchase 80 of its 737 jets for $8.8 billion.

Shares of the Boeing rose $2.05 to $128.34 in morning trading Monday.
