The Windows Phone keyboard, known as Word Flow, is expected to soon launch on iOS devices soon after it was revealed that it is currently in beta testing for Windows Insiders.
A report published by The Verge says that Windows Insider testers are being invited to test Word Flow on Apple’s iPhone.
Word Flow on iOS would mark the arrival of yet another ‘exclusive’ Windows Phone feature to other platforms.
The author of The Verge report, Tom Warren, said that the Windows Phone keyboard is “far more accurate and easy to use than the default iOS keyboard and many Android alternatives.”
He added: “It shouldn’t surprise many, though. Microsoft has made it clear that the company is focused on experiences across multiple platforms, rather than keeping features like Word Flow and Cortana locked to its struggling mobile software.”
Word Flow is likely going to be available on Android as well
According to Android Authority, Microsoft asked a select few in an email whether they would be interest in joining beta testing of Word Flow on iOS. The email said: “Do you own an iPhone (5s or newer)? Do you think your native iOS keyboard could use improvement?”
“Before publicly releasing this keyboard to the App Store, we’d love to give Insiders like you a preview. With your feedback, we’ll build a roadmap of improvements to the keyboard over time.”
The email went on to say that Microsoft is “working on extending the keyboard to other platforms, starting with iOS.”
This could mean that Microsoft is planning on launching Word Flow on Android devices as well.
